Why Choose Timber Flooring?

Who doesn't love a beautiful timber floor!
Trends come and go but timber has always remained a popular flooring option throughout Canberra homes. Timber has a timeless aesthetic that is luxurious and classy, well complemented with engineered boards. We have a huge range of colours, tones and hues available, there’s light, dark, gold and many colours in between. Check out a selection of colour options below and get in touch to organise a visit to our showroom in Mitchell or a visit from our mobile display centre to your place.

Not only is Timber beautiful, it is also tough and if cared for correctly will last a very long time. Timber boards naturally age over time which most people love. However if you’re unhappy at any stage with the look of your timber flooring it can be sanded back, polished or stained in the future as tastes and trends evolve.

Barrington Hardwood Timber Flooring Range

Barrington timber boards are a top quality product using Australian timbers sourced from Barrington Tops, near Gloucester NSW. We have a wide range of timber options including Blackbutt, Stringybark, Blue Gum, Brushbox, Spotted Gum and Jarrah, with all Barrington timber flooring utilising the Valinge 5G locking system, enabling quick installation, greater joint strength and no glue required. This is especially handy in the event a damaged plank needs replacing. Because Timber is a natural product, variation amongst boards is to be expected. Over the year's, boards will oxidise with light, causing reactions with the tannins in the timber. In general, this leads to your floor darkening slightly over time.
